Book Review: Frost Bite (Vampire Academy #2)

Frostbite is the second book in the Vampire Academy series and it is written by Richelle Mead. There are six books in total. The main characters are Rose Hathaway, Vasilisa “Lissa” Dragomir, Dmitri Belikov, Christian Ozera, Mason Ashford and Adrian Ivashkov.

Rose loves Dimitri, Dimitri might love Tasha, and Mason would die to be with Rose…

It’s winter break at St. Vladimir’s, but Rose is feeling anything but festive. A massive Strigoi – evil vampires – attack has put the school on high alert, and now the Academy’s crawling with Guardians – including Rose’s hard-hitting mother, Janine Hathaway. The Strigoi are closing in, and the Academy’s not taking any risks…

This year, St. Vlad’s annual holiday ski trip is mandatory. But the glittering winter landscape and the posh Idaho resort only create the illusion of safety. When three friends run away in an offensive move against the deadly Strigoi, Rose must join forces with Christian to rescue them. But heroism rarely comes without a price…

I seem to be a bit obsessed now. How did this happen? Was is because of the best badass character? Or the hot instructor? Or the great mythology? ALL OF IT, DUH!

Let me just tell you: I love Rose Hathaway. She’s like the best, most badass character in the world. The second book did not let me down. AT ALL. Most times I find myself getting bored when a series is too long, but even though this is just the second book, I’m basically hooked. The story doesn’t get old or too dramatic. I just love it. I’ve heard people say that it even gets better when you read more and I’m just like: HOW CAN IT GET BETTER THAN THIS?!

I seriously don’t know why it took me so damn long to pick up this series. I guess it was the number of books that kept pushing me away but no, I don’t even care now! I really recommend it to those who are still in doubt. Just pick it up. And if you have started the series, read on! I recommend it to everyone!
